    Austrians usually accept you if you can speak a good bit of German, but if not it is very difficult to settle in. And when living in the west of Austria between the summer and winter it is very quiet in Austria and you can feel lonely as a foreigner

    This woman paints a far to rosy a picture of Germany. If your a person of color you will face all sorts of mini-aggressions and some not so mni. Women basically belong in the kitchen and raising children. The German views of women is traditional. German for tech is far behind the rest of Europe. Internet is slooow. DSL in large cities. There is little use of the internet for appointments or anything else. You download PDFs and mail it in. The good point is the German Postal Service is very good. FAX machines are widely used. Medical is spotty, not excellent, they will try give you herbs or homeopathic medicine instead of real meds. The doctors beside manner leave much to be desired. Its hard to get appointments or treatment. The quality of food is good vegetables and fruits are pretty tasteless, The German's are very klannish, the use their language requirements CFER to deny technical people employment. Taxes are high and when you come to Germany you will be confronted with world class bureaucracy that isn't all that efficient, but its big. On the plus side compared to America crime is trivial even in bad old Berlin.

    Although I do think germans cook surprisingly well the comparison made here isn't accurate, you're showing sushi and turkish food in germany as if we don't have sushi and turkish food in the Netherlands. It would have been better to show which authentic german meals you'd encounter as they are ridiculously delicious.

    Yeaaah, Georgians, Armenians, Azerbaijanis... None of them are Slavic. I don't blame you, nobody in the world knows anything about us and I am not surprised you didn't add anything about us, but let me add, Armenians are Indo-Europeans, some are related to Assyrians and Kurds. Azerbaijanis are Turkic mostly a mix of Persian, Lezgin/Avar (Caucasians) and a little Turkic. Georgians are indigenous people of the Caucasus called Kartvelians and they speak Kartvelian, besides Georgians there are also Circassians, Chechens, Ingush, Avars, Lezgins, Dargins to the North of the Caucasus mountains as part of Russia and none of them are Slavic, they're also indigenous people of the Caucasus. Belarussians, Ukrainians, and Russians are Slavic. Just like there are the Baltics and the Balkans, we are called the Caucasus.

    Ireland is not a part of the British Isles. In fact the Irish government does not recognise the term British isles as a term to include Ireland. It is disrespectful to include Ireland in the term British isles which you did in this video.

    There's a common understanding of why certain countries did better ; 1 northern countries didn't get has devasrtated by WW2 , the countries that suffered the most were poland, eastern countries in general, a bit of france anfd germany at the end, and spain and italy (because of mussolini and Franco , who got helped by hitler but also Churchill, just so everyone know ;). 2 then you have countires that have invaded massacred and stolen ressources (or still do) from other countries, the colonialist countries : the first ones were spain and portugal and france and england and holland, invading different parts of the US, and of Africa, and Asia. Then it was mainly France and the UK. So france and the UK got it better cuz they stole. 3 You have the cold war, eastern countries suffered when fake socialism/communism appeared when Lenine instead of giving the power to the poeple (the idea of communism or socialism from a real communist or anarchist point of reference, specially the latter) and the dictatorship he built, which was a form of state capitalisme, that staline made harsher later on. All those countires still suffer as they were also looted by big "western" coprorations at the fall of the berlin wall. 4 europe as a political concept was then created to avoid war, but solidarity when out of the window in order to push neoliberal politics without the consent of europeans. Hence the history with greece for ex. There's more to all of that but in a nutshell, that's a bit of how and why

    Also, when you decide to use euros, you are losing national banking, which means the Czech Republic won't have a national bank that regulates inflation based on our country's needs. Instead, we will be part of a group with other countries and rely on the European Central Bank (ECB). Since the ECB has to cater to all member countries, the specific changes that Czechia might need won't be implemented as they could potentially harm other member countries.

    I was born in the US but grew up my entire childhood in Germany. One thing for Europeans to remember about Americans is that much like the generalization of Europe or the generalization of specific European countries, the US is so massive and so culturally diverse that you can't accurately make blanket statements about "Americans". A German I met at a bar once was absolutely shocked to hear that I had never been to a rodeo because he visited Texas once and figured that it was a country-wide phenomenon. Someone from Alabama is going to be very different than someone from Oregon. Even within specific states it's very diverse, in northern Virginia you have some of the highest rated public schools in the country, while southwest Virginia has some of the highest illiteracy rates in the country.

    i live in a big city in the US, not far from downtown at all, but it’s so unwalkable. our neighborhood does have sidewalks but the only think i could walk to in 20 minutes is the library. you also have to cross some dangerous roads to get there. the grocery store is a 42 minute walk away, or you could take the bus for 25 min (which comes rarely) or drive for 7 minutes.

    • @elizabetht308
      @elizabetht308 2 дні тому
